# Browser extension configuration

> How to configure the Bright Data Proxy Browser Extension: update zone, country, custom headers, and proxy settings from the setup page.

How can I change the extension's settings?

Open [Extension setup page](https://brightdata.com/cp/bext) and change settings.

## Select proxy (zone)

This selection directs your browser traffic via the specific proxy.

## Targeting

This section sets geolocation of your proxy. The websites you browse to, will see your location as configured in this section.

### All Proxy Networks: Datacenter, ISP & Residential:

* Country: country worldwide

### Residential only:

* City: within that country

* Carrier: The IP providers, usually a local telecom company

* ASN: The "Autonomous System Number" - routing parameter for your proxy

## Request Headers

User Agent: select which browser user agent will be used to send your requests.

## Network Settings

### DNS Resolution

Select if your target website DNS resolution is done on Bright Data "superproxy" server (usually in a location closer to you) or the remote proxy.

### Server Country

Select the Bright Data superproxy country you want to connect to.

Your requests are following a route similar to this:

Your browser -> Superproxy -> Proxy peer -> Target website

### Exclusive IP

IP

### Super Proxy Port

The port used to connect to Bright Data superproxy.

Due to security upgrades you may see more than one port in the list: choose the default (this is the most updated one: `44445`).

## Excluded domains

Domains the browser extension will NOT proxy but go to them directly.
