This page explains the fair use rate limit Bright Data applies to the SERP API, where to find the limit on your account and what happens when a request exceeds it. Starting January 2026, Bright Data is applying a rate limit to its SERP services.

Where do I find my SERP API rate limit?

Open the Control Panel, select your SERP API, then go to the Overview tab > Access details. The rate limit currently applied to that API is shown there. To read the limit from a live request instead, send the x-brd-get-rate-limit header. See Get current rate limit.

What is the SERP API rate limit for unfunded accounts?

Unfunded accounts are subject to a rate limit of 1,000 req/min.

What happens when I exceed the SERP API rate limit?

Requests above the limit return HTTP error 429.

How do I raise my SERP API rate limit?

Add funds to your account or contact your sales agent. Fast SERP customers agree a queries-per-second allocation with their account manager instead. See Fast SERP quickstart.
